Old Spice Blue Deodorant

July 22, 2009 AC / DC Glasgow Hampden Park June 30, 2009 John Mayall

Never in my life imagined I would set foot in Scotland and yet this is where my sister and I landed. It's crazy that passion for one group may grow to. Try to see the members of AC / DC at George V was my first sign of obsession see fanaticism, but to see them in the hometown of the Young brothers had pushed the vice beyond the imaginable.

So Sunday, June 28 that we fly to Beauvais airport, having missed the first flight 14.00, we have no choice but to wait for the next one is at 23:55. I spend voluntarily on the long wait at Beauvais not you understand the most exciting city in France.

So late into the night we arrived at Prestwick Airport , a few miles from Glasgow (yes I will not speak in mileage because this measurement completely foreign to me). After taking a bus towards Buchanan Bus Station in the heart of Glasgow, we took a taxi to our hostel Globetrotters Hostel . A youth hostel in a state of disrepair that does not count many clients. But beyond its appearance the welcome we receive is exemplary. An old Scottish and Irish two young (one named Angus) invites us to drink with them. Despite the late hour (around 1:00) we accept as not to offend. After we have made a long speech about the superiority of Glasgow from Edinburgh and brotherly ties uniting Scotland and France since the Middle Ages, the old Scottish too soaked with alcohol begins to doze. It was 4:00 and we spent even soaked Vodka ask where is our rooms. It is with some pleasure that we take our ease even if the state of inadequacy of rooms would be enough to scare.

Day Monday we will familiarize ourselves with the city. Both say immediately if the reception is the highlight of this city is surely to compensate with little to see. Simply put Glasgow offer very little appeal in terms of tourism. Before we left when we arrived and even my sister and myself were amazed to find no tourist guide of the city such as "Backpacker's Guide" or otherwise. Fortunately the city center and its numerous pedestrian streets have something to occupy us for the rest of the day. Another positive sign is the city seems to have put the color of AC / DC with fronts Pub and shops displaying clearly the upcoming event.
But before taking the huge slap at Hampden Park the following day, we booked a small snack mouth by visiting the legendary John Mayall Academy at the O2 on Monday night. (See previous column)

Tuesday, June 30, the day has finally arrived ... It was at 10:00 that we wake up, someone knocks on our door, there are three fans of AC / DC Scottish freshly landed. At the outset they offer us a beer that we accept, even if a beer by way of my breakfast is not our practice. Once ready we head towards the city center, buy some drinks and sandwiches and then take our train to Central Station . Normally we would descend to the Mount Florida station, but I am mistaken, we descend Queens Park station, that compel us to walk at least 1km. This time it was worth it to go down the sooner we go past a beautiful park and housing rather posh.

Finally got around Hampden Park before we ask the B input, I want to send a text message to Jul '(ACDC Highway to the forum) who tells me they are still downtown. Despite the sweltering heat, the wait is bearable. Some killed time by playing ball or reading the tabloids.

After waiting about 1:30, long lines began to form and not very far from me I see two jackets to patch types. Surely it's them ... My sister is going to meet them while I keep our place in the queue and actually it is indeed Jul 'and Loic. The doors open and I barely have time to greet Jul 'as we move inside.

We sit on the left side of the stage and Malcolm begin to get acquainted. It evokes our past concerts. Jul 'has an enviable record to his credit: 20th concerts. Suffice to say that me and my 4th concert of it looks really silly boys next.

When The Answer rears its nose at last we have the opportunity to test the Scottish public and especially the acoustics of the stadium. The Irish faithful to themselves will climb the same set as was seen in each of the tour dates in Europe. With the exception of Scottish hymn that will awaken the enthusiasm of the public to Hampden.

If we can be drunk in time to see The Answer to every concert, it's nothing compared to the appalling English band The Subways . From memory I do not recall seeing a group as pedantic and pretentious. And musically j'vous not tell ... it turns three / four chords while screaming for stacking and turning on or even with his guitar and it dares to proclaim itself as a rock band.

Moreover, given the scandal they caused at Wembley a few days earlier by insulting the boys and their fans I do not understand that they have been maintained in the first part. Besides, throughout their set, they will try to redeem himself by stroking in the direction of the hair and the public by praising Scotland. Audiences clearly not fooled around with me since a field of major well-trained sprouted like magic.

And here we are now in the final straight, the roadies to give boys the tools and the soundtrack that we pass from Buddy Guy is heard. Before us a band of young Scottish girls plump did not seem aware that this seemingly quiet will pit a handful of minutes in a real cauldron. Jul 'warns one of the girls but it does not seem to pay attention to what he says.

And here we go! The cartoon appeared on the screen. It was nice seeing him again and again whether in concert or in video on the net is that this introduction scene of mouth. The train derailed and the little devil appears disguised as a schoolboy and strikes the first chords of Rock n 'Roll Train . Need we say more except that the slap is huge as always. It was thought at the last time our boys will give the maximum like every concert. From the beginning the people behind exert immense pressure we compress against the barriers.

The band of young girls begin to show signs of panic. One of them especially in front of me does not seem to understand that pressure that people come back and start to insult any names of birds imaginable. It will crush me violently until the right foot. Then panic on Back in Black asked to be evacuated by security guys. The friend Jul 'put his hand to the paw helping out other girls, which not only we will make a gain of space and we will finally be against the barriers.

From Big Jack, I can finally enjoy the concert without much thought of people who claim to be evacuated. However I would point out a rather astonishing detail, these are largely people who are overweight out. The girls apparently smaller gauge better resistant to pressure.

Onstage our boys go wild, linking the tracks with ease but I usually just point out that Brian seemed more tired than the others with a voice less on top than usual. For the rest we say more except that pleasure is always the same listening to Dirty Deeds , Shot Down In Flames, Thunderstruck . Brian us Frequently somewhat the beginning words of The Jack , but the strip of Angus and videos showing young girls in the audience (including one who hesitate do not topless) will make us forget this little incident. After Hells Bells guitar a little change is necessary including the use of the White Falcon for Malcolm on Shoot to Thrill .

moment that was almost magical to me before War Machine, my eyes meet those of Brian, I make him sign and he replied in turn that back. It starts not far from Malcolm and returns with a bottle (probably a kind of energy drink) he launched at me sadly, I grazes the fingertips and on my left is someone who recovers.

I'm seeing them for the 4th time but nothing I remain passive Anything Goes . From You Shook Me All Night Long the concert takes on a whole other dimension, the receptive audience sing the entire song with Brian who benefits especially early Whole Lotta Rosie . In the same way Brian made in the heat of the action loses its headset (probably for returns) and can not sing the song ends.

Let There Be Rock is surely a title gives me the chills more than live because the band gives everything he has and it's time thanks to Angus, where he shows off his dexterity. One thing struck me while Angus was on the platform, I saw Brian in the dark trying to practice a kind of breathing exercise, closing your eyes and deeply inspiring and expiring.

Some had made the journey on purpose to hear it but I confess to hear Bonny not given me lot of excitement expected. I would have preferred that Angus plays it once on stage, communion with the public would have been more intense. Highway to Hell and For Those About To Rock (We Salute You) end as usual the festivities. I was not expecting any surprises, however I was surprised by the magnitude of the fireworks even more impressive than the damp squib that we had right at the Stade de France.

Small souvenir photo with Jul, before this scene that we all hope again one day, then it is time to find and Loïc Arnukem (also members of H2ACDC) with whom I only know. Together we redo the concert without much talk about who we all trot in the head to know "Do we attended their last concert in Europe ? »
