Both the state immediately, the purpose of the trip to Glasgow was not in the database to see John Mayall but to see a last time some training (Hard?) Rock dear to my heart. But as Glasgow is not a city with great tourist attraction, the idea of seeing John Mayall and his new band is quickly came to the idea of my sister and myself to take care during these 4 days. It was at the O2 Academy , comparable room at La Cigale (to give an order mind) in terms of ability to place the father Mayall took up residence. It was around 6:00 p.m. we come around. A lean queue of about twenty persons, mostly consisting of quadratic and fifties is already present when we arrive. At 18:30 the doors open and engulf us inside. To my surprise the access to the balcony is closed, Mayall surely have not sold the number of space expected, it was in that pit and we end up sitting. I would spend the first part was a strange British band who played a kind of country folk accumulating pompous clichés.

This first one shows up as John Mayall on stage, greeting the public and a cursory glance at the room with only a hundred people present. Which is low for an artist renowned for her. It does not matter since we announced the first song of the concert. A title in the spirit of Sonny Boy Williamson II, Another Man (now the famous Beano) that only plays the harmonica. One could not expect better introduction, the beginning of the concert is at once an atmosphere of being with a unique material - the Blues.

The new group of John then goes on stage compound Rocky Athas (Guitar) for which info is a Texan guitarist and childhood friend of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Rzab Greg (bass) with an impressive resume (Santana, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, The Allman Brothers, Albert King, Otis Rush ...), he auditioned at the close of the Stones saw in replacing Bill Wyman. Jay Davenport (drums) who played himself in the past with big names of the Blues (Pinetop Perkins, Melvin Taylor, Junior Wells, Jimmie Johnson ...). New acolytes of John having fun on stage and it shows, Mayall any hesitation when getting back to the showcase. The Rocky Athas Texan style brings a certain dynamic to the group that Mayall had not or had lost with the Bluesbreakers Buddy Wittington. Trivia and hilarious moment during the concert. Our presence intrigue one of our neighbors who have the nerve to stretch a sheet Mayall father when he wrote: (the word was in English) "The two people near me are in Paris, I do not ask a small Parisian Walkays ( the famous title of Gary Moore) but? "as saying that after reading this word Mayall we were blown across the room as if it was pointing the spotlight on us. On leaving the room we had to "Welcome to Scotland" and in French from people public who attended enjoyed the whole scene.

So about all I could say about this concert, my first John Mayall and which I hope will not be my last (Mayall has apparently snubbed France for his new tour).
I apologize to the passage of not having developed more on the setlist (which I have forgotten except for some tracks) but I can certify it focused more on the classics.
