Jimi Hendrix: The Unfulfilled Dream (Regis Canselier)

"The fiery guitar Monterey eclipse always the musician who was burning ..." If this sentence seems to sound like an obvious, unfortunately it does not echo the vision left by the genius of the six strings to close the vast majority of the public who has retained only as a single image , the showman who breaks his guitar, playing behind his head or with the teeth.

For the first time a book has just hit the twist given to the ideas that most people do on the guitar through sound analysis and documented focusing on the musical aspect first. In dissecting albums, live performances and shedding light on the jungle that is the discography post-mortem of the Voodoo Chile, Regis Canselier (Hendrix forum administrator ) can be viewed with Yazid Manou as other specialist Jimi Hendrix in France.

If at first the book does not seem to go to novices, it remains affordable to amateurs with a limited culture hendrix interested in learning more about the famous left-handed.
Here there is no question of degrading stories to impress (see case the sextape), if there anecdotes, they are in the best analysis supported by the author.

It comes out quickly to the albums mentioned in each chapter to make the link between the analysis of the author and what is listening. Also seem to need several readings on the overall understanding of the book or at least parts of it that may seem a bit fuzzy at first but soon become clear once we had the chance to build on audio clips.

More than a book, Regis Canselier gives us a real "guide" to travel in the bowels of the work of the guitarist's most fascinating of the last century.
