The scene in itself provides a rather chaotic, with cables on both others. And fantasy on the part of the Loner, an Indian totem pole and a red phone (a wink of the Cold War probably) appear out of nowhere.
is at times rather late (21:30) as the old Neil enters. The man looks really old top of its 64 years but in a casual view it presents itself. White shirt, T shirt bearing the image of the revolutionary Zapata, jeans and as he frequently reminded throughout the concert regularly repeating his shoes between each song: a new pair of shoes.
Seeing in this light we can not help thinking that this is surely it would have to look like Kurt Cobain in 20 years if he did not take life. For it is the Neil Young "Father of Grunge " that broke from the first agreements Love And Only Love , thus dispersing the doubts about his health that has been so battered in recent years.
The first part of the concert all electricity shows a Neil Young combative, fighting with his guitar solos ripping out.
The concert continued its momentum Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black) , Nobody Knows This Is Nowhere, Pocahontas, Spirit Road ... the voltage drops a little time for a sumptuous and haunting Cortez The Killer. Then rises dramatically from the cartel's riff Cinnamon Girl placing the Zenith in turmoil.
Neil leaves time for later guitar and starts the organ for the title Mother Earth which is part of its new eco trip. For my part the message is rather bad, I look at the time and looks forward to the next song.
Neil Young began the acoustic set with only Do not Let It Bring You Down interpreted in a religious calm. Then linked together two titles (with the group this time) Album Comes A Time (1978), Goin 'Back and Comes A Time . The Loner was not a title does not store as essential to his repertoire that Heart Of Gold . A title sung by the public but which strangely does not make me shudder as I would have thought. Perhaps this is due to the pedal steel part of Ben Keith I find a bit bland.
Seeing the public finally conquered the old Neil took the opportunity to present his group of Ben Keith (pedal steel guitar), Rick Rosas (Bass) Chad Cromwell (drums) Neil's wife Pegi Young (Chorus) Anthony Crawford (Choir, Guitar, Piano). Old Man just finish this acoustic set in style with a very receptive audience and playful at the onset of Larry Cragg (roadie Neil Young) on banjo.
Back to Electric for one last party together as exciting as the first. With Mansion On The Hill the electric machine is recovering in motion soon followed Get Behind The Wheel then Rockin 'In The Free World that the group no longer seems to want to stop until the break out on stage and in the audience reached climax. After a long hello, Neil and his Electric Band leaves the stage ... but the show is not over.
back on stage, a keyboard shaped like a bird descend on the scene and it is again left with Like A Hurricane in a version where the Canadian hypnothisante splits again long solos ripping.
But the sound barrier was finally passed with the resumption of Beatles A Day In The Life, The Loner baited tirelessly on his old Les Paul, triturating the strings with his whammy bar to the explosion of them.
Under this flood of sound and this apocalyptic vision that the old Neil and his band finally left the stage. Leaving an audience of Zenith in any other state in which it was originally.
But with the certainty that with this kind of concert Rock N 'Roll Can Never Die!
