Before I get into the chronicle of the concert, a small presentation of the artist is essential.
Ryan Bingham was born March 31, 1981 in Hobbs New Mexico and raised in rural West Texas. Despite his young age, he lived a pretty hectic (he has been homeless for a long period and dragged along the rodeo circuit).
Bingham is part of what we call the Americana: a form of rock that is rooted in the Country and Folk. Appeared in the late 90's in response to drift for years FM 80, the movement has within a few famous artists such as Ryan Adams, Steve Earle ...
With only three albums to its name, Mescalito (2007), Sun Roadhouse (2009), Star Junky (2010), Ryan Bingham is already a veteran in the land of Uncle Sam, where his star status see legend of country music is undeniable. A status that is growing, particularly through the successful film was the film that Crazy Heart (he made a brief appearance, giving the answer to the Oscar winner Jeff Bridges) for which he recorded the track "The Weary Kind" , a song co-written with T Bone Burnett which earned him being awarded a Golden Globe.
This is not the first trip to Paris for Ryan Bingham, he had played in Connelly's Bar in the 5th district in 2007 (and in 2004 he was the cowboy -boy for the show Wild West Show from Disneyland Paris), but this is the first time it actually occurs in a concert hall in Paris.
If it is true that his fame extends little under U.S. (most fans and tourists who traveled Ricans) it is fun and even comforting - to see that French fans of the genre are present in the room.
A room not quite completed when the first party insured by Liam Gerner but almost fills the debut of Ryan Bingham and Dead Horses.
Small presentation of Dead Horses ... just The group consists of Corby Schaub (guitar / mandolin), Matt Smith (drums) and Elijah Ford (bass).
What about the concert itself? Except that it clearly met the expectations of the public. Operator on stage with aggressiveness directory of its three studio efforts. Alternating quiet passages and bravura acoustic slide with the group. Sunshine, Hallelujah , Strange Feeling In The Air , Bread & Water , Southside of Heaven and even mariachi trip - Boracho Station, just as many titles that take a new dimension in live , in contrast to the intimate aspect of the studio versions.
Besides the evident quality of the interpretation of this group is striking is that gravelly voice (probably a credit to a good use of smokes and Jack Daniels) adding to the depth of interpretation.
The concert ended, it is possible to see the man (something almost unthinkable in the States saw its reputation) and to sign autographs (which I do) and take a picture with him.
Ultimately, this concert held all its promises. Remains whether this single date seen below Paris - France and Europe, the birth of a much more intense enthusiasm for an artist who obviously has not finished talking to him.
