was 40 years ago ... American youth met in Bethel near Woodstock for three days of love, peace and music from 15 to 18 August 1969.

The event which was to host 50 000 people eventually host 400 000. The festival became a paying basis by force of circumstance a free event, which was a financial disaster for the organizers but scored final event in the legend.

also creates a legend and thanks to incredible displays, the cream of the music of the time was met Janis Joplin, Joe Cocker, The Who, Canned Heat, Santana, Ten Years After, Sly & the Family Stone , Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Joan Baez, Johnny Winter, Jefferson Airplane ... and of course Jimi Hendrix

But what was truly a spotlight for some (eg, revelation of Ten Years After and Joe Cocker) was a real nightmare for others. Blame it on organization and logistics still not developed, it can be added to the rain that hit the site during the second day (eg Benefit disappointing Creedence Clearwater Revival, which later inspired them the title "Who'll Stop The Rain " ) that lengthened the duration of the festival up that famous morning of August 18 where Jimi Hendrix and his new group entered the scene.

Under the name of "Jimi Hendrix Experience" what the group announced, but Hendrix comes immediately clarify things by stating that the experiment is over and he gave way to Gypsy Sun Rainbows & or Band of Gypsy. daring thing for an event of this magnitude with this group barely lapped Jimi that occurs the morning of August 18, 1969. Training consists of Billy Cox (bass) an old friend of Jimi regiment will be his bassist until his death the following year, Mitch Mitchell (drums) is the sole survivor of the dissolution of the Experience, Larry Lee (guitar), Juma Sultan & Jerry Velez (percussion).

Training has an appointment with history and it is with "Message to Love " she begins. A new publication just played so far and which will climax with the live Band of Gyspsy . An Introduction smooth finally a concert will that going in intensity until the final explosion. " Hear my train comin '" title not present in the DVD version of the concert and whose acoustic version should be more known to the general public that the electric version. Nevertheless, this title is not new since Jimi has performed several times with the Experience, here you can clearly hear the beginnings of Machine Gun which will come some months later. It is a very good version that the group serves, we note that the version of the dual will be published in the solo Larry Lee as will be the case with virtually all his solos on following titles. And two compositions Lee (Mastermind, Gypsy Woman) are absent from the double CD and DVD.

"English Castle Magic " & " Red House" as well-known repertoire hendrix are emerging. If delivery of the first title is correct, it is slightly frustrated by the Red House where Hendrix was inspired shows at both the singing guitar but the voltage drops suddenly when Jimi broke a string. You do not hear it on the double but Jimi handed over to Larry Lee, whose solo cut. Shortening and promising version.

ensues " Lover Man" which is another the hendrix version of "Rock Me Baby" by BB King. A version of Hendrix or playful mood dancing leaves much room for Larry Lee. "Foxy Lady " aka hendrix standard repertoire, but not the best interpretation of the career of Voodoo Child has the merit of showing some semblance of cohesion in this new formation.

From " Jam Back at the House ", instrumental in the hypnotic rhythm, the concert takes a new turn. Group cohesion is felt more than in previous songs. Adding however that the percussion provided by Jama Sultan Jerry Velez & are hardly noticeable and this during the entire concert. "Izabella " new composition tells the story of a soldier on the front hoping that his beloved does not disappoint during his absence. Apart from the lyrics is a title that will be enjoyable rarely played by suite.Retour with more conventional with "Fire " whose violent interpretation does not fade with the studio version.

Nothing, I think could have prepared the public to see what he was in the latter part of the concert. With " Voodoo Child (Slight Return )" Hendrix and the Gypsy Sun & Rainbows offer just one of the best versions of this track live. The intensity never seems to come down, except the part where Jimi this group while continuing to play. Cohesion as sought by the group since the beginning seems to be found. Jimi will even offer the public who misses from claiming that the concert was turning into jam.

Those who have followed this advice of finger licking. For though the public has increased from 400 000 to 30 000 people at the end of the festival, the highlight of the show and make the portion Woodstock immortal and so representative of a generation will unfold before their eyes.

Jimi appropriated under the astonished eyes of the public the American anthem "The Star Spangled Banner ," punctuating his interpretation of the sounds of bombs as if a plane was dropping napalm screams added to it. Hendrix is so true figure of sound sculptor and comparison with Guernica is strong about. A heavy version of sense given the political context of the time and enormous courage on the part of a young black 26 year old who touches a sacred symbol as having no time to fear of offending the puritanical America.

is the applause and shouts that conquered the public connects with Hendrix " Purple Haze, "a title that culminates with the sequence to the long improvisation" Woodstock Improvisation "where Jimi without bluster demonstrated both virtuosity and a great sense of improvisation from the great shock at Wha Wha more rhythmic crossing to finish in a quiet peaceful position itself away by the sublime instrumental "Villanova Junction .

The concert could have ended on this note of levity but decides Jimi concluding with "Hey Joe ." He who had said repeatedly getting tired of playing this title is surely thank the public that the interpreter at the very end of the concert.

Wart Urethral Opening

Paris Palais des Congres

First concert BB King for me, I confess that I would have preferred to see as part of a festival ( cognac or Nice) I had to fall back on the Palais des Congres at the last minute.

arrived in the Palais des Congres something that I continue, this building is cold and soulless. I was a little like entering a theater like UGC but 2 to 3 times great. Basically I was supposed to find me in the penultimate position at the top but the lovely lady in charge to take me to my place I am proposing to move a dozen rank lowest.

Big black point of the evening waiting. Although we pass the old blues in the background, I finally realized that the first part of a small half hour show 45 minutes was not too much. The BB and it is desired to pass only 21 pm the concert begins with his musicians to start, I do not remember names, is the drummer Tony Coleman is the one that impressed me most. Second
dot the sound, I do not know what it was higher or lower right corner of the room but the sound of brass in the beginning was unbearable.

Once the first two songs played by the band heater finish, BB King returns to the stage, purple sequin jacket. I found it quite fit for an octogenarian and it alone without help from anyone that finds its place. The concert begins with Let The Good Time Roll and its legendary and idiosyncratic Lucille will sound weird but it has not caused the expected sensation. I found the sound of his guitar a little too hard and unusual distortion, then that's the impression I had from where I sat.

Nan definitely what moved me most and what I remember from this concert is that voice, almost intact at age 83. And hear live and surely the first opportunity for me to justify seeing BB King at least once in their life. Securities linked together Every Day I Have The Blues , Guess Who , One Kind Of Favor .

And as foreshadowed in the majority of his concerts and his advanced age the chatter is somewhat precedence over the music. Everything begins with congratulations when BB made the shopping public by saying that "The France is one of the few countries to understand the Blues ", that" Paris is one of the top three cities in the world for the Blues ", etc. ... I guess he prowled a speech according to each city where he plays. Sometimes it is nice, sometimes it's Vienna is the capital of Blues in France. The other half of the concert he will joke and to make the audience laugh. I admit I felt tired by the time , not really knowing how to behave and wondering if we were to pass without saying anything on the pretext that the King of the Blues is older and closer to the tomb and saw that his past and his contribution to the Blues could be him forgive those moments of madness with the public. The question arises for other artists old (Buddy Guy to name him) who no longer have the energy that fills this lack of energy by much talk and one-upmanship. It dedication

a title for women, saying it was clearly disgusted with the way rappers treat women in their chansons.Puis he will chain with Rock Me Baby he dedicates this time to men. And frustration for me he did not finish the song because it connects directly with The Thrill Is Gone and yet is strangely lot of chills that I hoped not happen, mistakes can be the sound or brass sections that I find it very dull in contrast to the versions I used to hear.
Oh When the Saints closes the concert very soon a mass of people rushed to the scene to receive picks and shake hands with BB King. Being too far away I watch the scene with applause.

BB leaves the scene, it's time for me to join my sister and a friend who was sitting a few rows ahead of me. Overall I'm happy to have seen BB King, I remember above all that voice and good humor of the man. But I'm left frustrated and saw this concert in the semi shade because of this that I sound a bit spoiled the sound of Lucille I was too strida at times. Regarding the fact that he has a lot about it I put on the account age. I feel happy and lucky for the opportunity to see BB King in the future, none shall surely not soon see any more.
